The economy is hitting everyone. And now, it will hit you too if you plan on surfing at Hawaii’s North Shore area.
Recently, it’s been leaked that Da Hui (The Wolfpak) will levy taxes on non-resident surfers who want to surf Pipeline. If your are an out-of-town surfer, you will have to purchase a ‘Pipeline Pass’ for the Winter swell season. It will cost you $250. This will ‘allow’ you to paddle out into the line-up at Pipe.

The reasoning behind this is that Da Hui wants improve ‘safety’ and decrease the size of the line-ups. When asked if this was purely for the money one Wolfpak member said “Nah brah, it’s only for safety”. Passes will be available to be purchased at the Volcom house and see Jimmy.
There are also ‘Lifetime’ memberships available and those will cost you $2,500. But that’s not all…. Also new for the ’09-’10 season will be fines issued by the Wolfpak. Each surfer will have a rotation number for that day. If you drop in on a person with a lower number, look out because it will cost you $75.00 and you will be banned for two days.

Bullshit. But you could be blocked paddling into the lineup depending on how you look especially if you don’t know anyone. Do not not drop in on anyone, that will be a big penalty. If you paddle for it you have to go or no waves for a long time. Its the ultimate spot that’s about respect what else is new-
